Norristown

THE MAENNER-CHOR was founded in Norristown,Pa April 14, 1867
by German-American citizens & American friends. The organization grew out of gatherings of the German-Americans & friends who talked about their homeland and sang old German folk songs on Sundays and evenings.

The singers of THE MAENNER-CHOR first appeared before a public audience in December of 1868;the first schooled chorus of the club in a successful concert program.

Like everything else, "Times Have Changed". We still have a small Singing Chorus who sing American and German songs. We now are a club of more than 750 members of many nationalities.

Since this website is brand new as of March 18th, 2003, give it a little time to evolve. Make recommendations for Links, information, maybe even a chat area, private for members only. Support your membership, for that is who you are!
